Poems from the Desert

Poetry has been a lifelong passion for His Highness Sheikh Mohammed; his favourite classical poets being Al Mutanabi, Al Buhtori and Abu Tammam whose voices have profoundly enriched the tradition of Arabic poetry. These influences, combined with the Gulf tradition of Nabati poetry, a form dear to him for its social and literary significance, impart a particular quality to the poems published in this book. Sheikh Mohammed expresses a mature sensitivity through this medium, reflecting a love of thought and language.
